Washington’s View on Health Care

I have been watching the health care wars for sometime now and believe that we have an administration that is sending a mixed message to the American people. If you listen to the President and all the others telling you that we must do something to cut costs because we cannot sustain doing nothing, you begin to see...

Budget Deficit, Freeze?

Budget Deficit, Freeze?

Here we go again, magic numbers, borrow your way out of debt and put forward as many of your ideological programs as you think you can sneak through. I would think every American in this country is cutting spending, reducing borrowing and trying to reduce their debt. They realize that they can no longer deficit spend...

Washington Is dysfunctional, State of the Union, Chaos

I think we have a dysfunctional legislative body. They are unable to put aside ideological agendas and sit down and negotiate legislation that works for the American people. It has become very clear that they are so disconnected from middle America that they cannot understand what we want or need. Their economic status...

Deficit Reduction?

Deficit Reduction?

Well, the vacations over, I took some time off for my son’s wedding and now its time to look at the new direction the liberals in Congress and the President are taking after trying to figure out the message of the voters. They still aren’t listening to us and as usual they are trying to move their agenda...

Personal Responsibility: Part 3

December 23, 2009 · 1 Comment

This is the last in a 3 part series of my opinions describing how personal choices affect where we are in life. It is my belief that we as individuals could have mitigated some of the serious economic problems we are experiencing by managing our spending and responsibly borrowing money. The housing crisis could have been lessened by prudent borrowing of the individual. We should not have purchased mortgages we could not afford. We should not have 20 credit cards in our wallet. We as a community should have made personal choices to live within our means. Having said that, what has happened to the... [Read the full story]

Prevent Fraud When Writing

Did you know that anything you write with a normal pen can be used for fraud? Mostly the fraud is used when writing a check. This fraud called “Check Washing” is a growing form of fraud. The reason it is called “Check Washing” is because criminals take your check, generally out of your mail box, and put your check into chemicals to wash off what you have written leaving your signature then make the check out to them self and cash your check. In 2006 the government said this was an $800,000,000.00 fraud and in 3 year this amount would double. The reason it because it is... [Read the full story]
