Nuke power?

You all know about my conservative views. I am not sure that any position on nuclear energy falls to either side. We need various sources of energy in this country, there is no doubt about it, but I believe that nuclear is an uncontrollable beast that we do not know enough about to use. This source of energy can quickly...

Unbiased News?

I’ve been sitting around for a time wondering what I can complain about. I have not listened to the talking heads from any network for several months and only tried to find actual world news presented in an unbiased fashion. It is virtually impossible to achieve this goal. I do however, watch CNBC in order to...

Pick Your Reason For Why You Vote Democrat

I am not sure who wrote this but it rings true with me. 10. I voted Democrat because I believe oil companies’ profits of 4% on a gallon of gas are obscene but the government taxing the same gallon of gas at 15% isn’t. 9. I voted Democrat because I believe the government will do a better job of spending...

The politics of the border crisis

July 18, 2014 · Leave a Comment

EFFORTS to craft sensible immigration policies for America have long felt like pushing a boulder up a hill. Thanks to a crisis on the southern border, where tens of thousands of children have arrived this year from Central America, nearly overwhelming officials in such hotspots as the Rio Grande Valley in Texas, the boulder is suddenly rolling the wrong way. Flows from such violence-racked places as Honduras, Guatemala and El Salvador have been building for months but accelerated this spring. The news has filled with images of toddlers being shepherded by armed border agents, local communities... [Read the full story]

Pledge of Allegiance

[mediaplayer src='/wp-content/uploads/RedSkeltonPledge.wmv' ] If I could say it better I would, but I feel Red Skelton says it best!  Red Skelton has been my favorite comedian ever, but when he was serious he really make you think! So when I found this video I just had to share it with you!   [poll id="4"]   History of the Pledge of Allegiance: The Pledge of Allegiance was written in August 1892 “I pledge allegiance to my Flag and the Republic for which it stands, one nation, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.” In 1923, the words, “the Flag of the United States... [Read the full story]

Prevent Fraud When Writing

March 17, 2014 · Leave a Comment

Did you know that anything you write with a normal pen can be used for fraud? Mostly the fraud is used when writing a check. This fraud called “Check Washing” is a growing form of fraud. The reason it is called “Check Washing” is because criminals take your check, generally out of your mail box, and put your check into chemicals to wash off what you have written leaving your signature then make the check out to them self and cash your check. In 2006 the government said this was an $800,000,000.00 fraud and in 3 year this amount would double. The reason it because it is... [Read the full story]
