President Obama, Speaker Pelosi, and SenatorReed are expected to make this major announcement at a news conference later this week. I have obtained an advanced copy for the proposal which is named…

“CASH FOR CODGERS” and it works like this… Couples wishing to access health care funds in order to pay for the delivery of a child will be required to turn in 1 old person. The amount the goverment grants them will be fixed according to a sliding scale. Older and more prescription dependent codgers will garner the highest amounts.

Special “Bonuses” will be paid for those submitting codgers in targeted groups, such as smokers, alcohol drinkers, persons 10 pounds over their prescribed weight, and any member of the Republican Party.

Smaller bonuses will be given for codgers who consume beef, soda, fried food, potatoe chips, whole milk, dairy products, bacon, Brussel sprouts, or Girl Scout Cookies.

All codgers will be rendered totally useless via toxic injection. This will insure that they are not secretly resold or their body parts harvested to keep other codgers in repair.

Remember you heard it here first!!

First a question, hasn’t been nice having Congress on vacation? They haven’t screwed anything up while they have been off celebrating the last big lie. Oh well on with the fuzzy math and spin. For the last year or so we have been hearing how 95% of Americans had their income taxes reduced. My question is that if 48% of americans don’t pay any income tax how can 95% get a tax break? If you do the basic math 100 minus 48 you get 52, not 95. Considering how the current administration keeps saying anyone making over 200k a year as a single person is rich and should pay more in taxes did they get a tax break too? I wonder how they arrived at the 95% number, don’t you?

Lets look at some of the effects of the so-called stimulus. First they still haven’t spent over $500 billion and unemployment is still at almost 10%, the money in the stimulus was not for job stimulus as they told us. If you read this bill you find studies and commissions and green research and on and on. The last big boondoggle I saw was for a wind power plant in Texas. Sounds like that might be money spent on America right? Well, $1.9 billion went to China for component parts. Why did this happen when there was seed money for American companies to start building these items? I guess the Chinese needed jobs too. It seems to me that almost everything we hear from our government is a load of bull anymore.

Aren’t you tired of all the lies and half truths? We are now saddled with a new health care plan that, despite all the sales talk from the government will lead to higher cost and lower coverage. The wonderful representatives who forced this on us don’t even know what is in the bill or the unintended consequences of this piece of legislation.

It is interesting to me how the focus of these people is so geared to growing government and shrinking our freedoms. Just look at all the eminent domain issues occurring throughout the country by all levels of government. They don’t get much news coverage but are on the increase every year. They are done for the public good according to the government but I feel it is an invasion of our rights.

There are just to many things happening lately to write about but I really believe that America is headed to place unlike any in our history. Since when was it evil to make money, grow a company or enjoy the results of your effort and hard work. Since when did we need the government deciding what was best for us as a whole? Let me put it in these terms. Would you really let Obama make your everyday life decisions for you? Tell you how to spend your money, where to live, how to raise your kids? Wake up he and Pelosi and Reid and company are doing just that.

Honorable Evan Bayh

Have you every really looked at what the Insurance really means?

This is what it says on Wikipedia:

Insurance, in law and economics, is a form of risk management primarily used to hedge against the risk of a contingent loss. Insurance is defined as the equitable transfer of the risk of a loss, from one entity to another, in exchange for a premium, and can be thought of as a guaranteed and known small loss to prevent a large, possibly devastating loss. An insurer is a company selling the insurance; an insured or policyholder is the person or entity buying the insurance. The insurance rate is a factor used to determine the amount to be charged for a certain amount of insurance coverage, called the premium. Risk management, the practice of appraising and controlling risk, has evolved as a discrete field of study and practice.

Now knowing that what my question is, why is the government in the Insurance Game?

What I am getting at is: Would it not be better for the government to help by providing them with actual Healthcare instead of playing Risk games?

If this bill is to provide security then why do it by getting into a risk taking game?

As I understand it, many people are pushing this to make healthcare EVEN.

Well I think the government is doing this backwards instead of getting into the Risk taking business, how about just making healthcare more affordable?

I am betting more Americans would be more than happy to pay a bit more in taxes to help young people to become doctors or help fund healthcare research to lower the cost of procedures and medicines. I am also betting millions of people would LOVE to see the government lower medical charges somehow.

Anyone that has ever had to stay overnight in a hospital or had surgery that has seen the bill that was charged KNOWS everything is over charged.

Why add to the over priced problem instead of lowering the costs?

Our President is so far left he cannot see the center. Is he a Socialist? I don’t think so but he definitely believes he is smarter than the American people and he thinks we cannot take care of ourselves. In my opinion Obama believes that the government is better suited to make all things fair for all people. Mr. President, life is not fair, everyone doesn’t get a trophy for just participating, life is a competition. Throughout history big government has failed to stimulate competition, in fact it stifles competition and increases cost in everything it tries to manage.
If we look at how the government has managed Fannymae and Freddymac we can see the results of that. If we look at Medicare/Medicaid, Social Security, regulation and monitoring of industry we can see failure to the extreme. I don’t understand the liberal agenda, it is foreign to any logic one can apply. Massive government control of industry is not in the best interest of this county. GM filed for bankruptcy and the result is the same as it would have been had not the government given them billions. The government literally forced the sale of Chrysler and the results are still in doubt. In my opinion the banks would have survived via the FDIC and bankruptcy processes already in place. Obama is taking credit for saving the county for collapse. We really don’t know what would have happened without our government interfering and placing all of us at risk via the largest national debt in the history of the world. In addition he is taking credit for saving something that is still in jeopardy. Yes Obama inherited a crisis, no doubt, yes his predecessor implement policies to bailout the banks, yes I believe that Bush rushed to judgement also and should have let the current laws and processes take care of the problem.
We are facing more problems economically, there is no doubt in my mind the worst is yet to come. This is going to happen because the continuing borrow and send policies driven by a political agenda to take care of the American people via government control regardless of what the people want is the primary desire of the liberal left.
The current march toward health care reform is now insurance reform, the American people have expressed their desire that the current bills be stopped. Has this stopped Obama? No, he is now at the forefront passing a reform under the pretense of bipartisanship and modifying the current bills. The reality is the bills are not changing all that much and the meeting with the Republicans is a political ploy designed to make them look like obstructionist. The reality is that Obamas plan doesn’t contain any of the Republican ideas for reform. The health insurance industry needs to have the anti-trust protections repealed and tort reform needs to be looked at and modified. Are these items in Obamas plan? no!
Spending on a second stimulus, cap and trade and health care/insurance reform are still leading the parade. The government can create a positive environment for the private sector to create jobs. The government can only do this through controlling their own spending and reducing the tax impacts on all of us.

It is striking to me that our government is in such a dysfunctional state. This is what happens when people become so opposed in their views that they cannot reasonably arrive at a solutions to problems. They Democrats had a super majority, in theory they should have been able to pass any legislation they wanted to pass. They could not achieve one single super vote. Why was this?
I maintain we have lost our moral compass, we cannot seem to look at any problem without a “what’s in for me” point of view. Our government is a prime example of this. The leadership of the United States has an obligation to the people to protect us not provide for us. Our leadership has been told this by the reaction of the people to the latest rounds of legislation being put forward by the Democrats. They are still not listening to us or the more reasonable legislators in their own party. They Pelosi, Reed and Obama camp are still trying to pass the health care bill, cap and trade and more stimulus. I don’t see any chance of them backing off and looking at what would really benefit the American people.
Our debt is staggering, our spending is staggering, our ability to pay this debt is not a reality. If the government doesn’t cut spending across the board and introduce a balanced budget law we will continue towards bankruptcy. The Pay-Go bill is a good start but will not solve the problem until substantial cuts are made to the spending side.
I wonder why so many Democratic legislators are deciding not to run for re-election. I wonder what they know that we don’t. I wonder if many of them are just plain tired of the constant left movement of their party.
The constant chant of the left that the Republicans are the “party of no” is just so much crap, you guys had a super majority, shoulda, coulda, woulda. The constant blaming of the previous administration is getting tiring, when the debt quadruples in one year and you start taking credit for accomplishments set in place by the previous administration. The new push towards jobs legislation and bipartisanship is laughable. It is a political show designed to once again blame the party of no. I say god bless the party of no, and the American people, they are the only thing that will stop the insanity.

I have been watching the health care wars for sometime now and believe that we have an administration that is sending a mixed message to the American people. If you listen to the President and all the others telling you that we must do something to cut costs because we cannot sustain doing nothing, you begin to see that this statement really applies to the governments spending on health care. I believe that Medicare and the governments handling of this program has caused our entire medical industry to become more of a government run program and less or a free market enterprise.
The politicians have a way of spending tax receipts on everything but the programs the money was intended for. If the money withheld from our paychecks was really in a trust and not sold as treasuries and then reallocated back to the general fund the crisis we now face would at least have been far less expensive than it is currently.
If you really ask questions of your medical provider and get a truthful answer you would also find that Medicare cost fixing sets the baseline for what the insurance companies negotiate with the providers. In addition the monopoly enjoyed by the insurance companies, created by our government, further negates competition and does not provide the consumer with the benefits of a free market place.
My question is simply, why not fix Medicare and follow up on the promise to end the wast, fraud and abuse of that program? Why not end the monopolies and lower the overall cost of medical insurance through competition?
We are still not being listened to by this administration. The President is still pushing forward with health care reform and the Congress is now developing another stimulus bill in secret. This is simply not acceptable and we the people must continue to make our voices heard. We have already seen that votes do trump dollars, we must not stop telling our representatives what we want in loud clear terms.

Well, the vacations over, I took some time off for my son’s wedding and now its time to look at the new direction the liberals in Congress and the President are taking after trying to figure out the message of the voters.
They still aren’t listening to us and as usual they are trying to move their agenda forward by lying to us.
They White House has proposed some interesting deficit reducing, take care of the middle class ideas, none of which will move the country out of debt, fix health care or help the middle class. As usual they throw us a bone in the form of increased child care credits and some tax relief for families. How about extending the so called Bush tax reductions, how about across the board tax reductions for everyone, small business, individuals and reducing the capital gains tax? No, they want to target tax relief and impose a “freeze” on government spending, only it is not a freeze. The $500B plus stimulus not yet spent, the $245B TARP money not yet spent and any money paid back to the government will be exempt and reallocated. In addition a new $175B stimulus is being proposed. I am not sure but that total seems to add up to what we owe China alone, why not pay them back?
They only folks who will see the freeze are the retirees, you know Social Security and government employees, their wages will be frozen for the next 3 years regardless of the coming inflation.
As usual the politicians are going to give up on fixing Medicare or the health care system because they did not get to have it all their way. It was interesting to see the shift from health care reform to insurance reform and then see the whole thing flame out. The problem still exists, soaring health care costs, broken Medicare system and no relief in sight because we no long are reasonable people, able to sit down and reach a compromise that benefits everyone.
What about the billions in Medicare fraud, waste and abuse? Why is that not a priority? Why are they not fixing that problem? All they did was tell us that fixing that would help pay for reform and reduce the deficit, is it no longer a problem because the bill is floundering?
The President has stated on an interview that he would rather be a great one term President that a mediocre two term President, when is he going to start? There is nothing great about him yet. He said that his job description is not to get re-elected but to do the peoples business. When is he going to start?
Even now the “blame Bush” game continues. Ok, Bush is gone and you have had a year, what have you done Mr. President? Saved or created how many jobs, stopped the economic disaster? Hell it was even Bushes fault the Democrats lost in Massachusetts. I guess the anger at Bush caused the Democrats to lose Kennedy’s seat.
The politicians get it but they will not let go of the ideological views that drive them, they continue to spin the peoples will to get re-elected and move their agenda forward.
I believe that as long as our politicians are so polarized and driven by these ideological views they will never be able to sit down and fix anything. They screaming talking heads on both sides are not helping solve any problems either. Come on Olbermann, Maddow, Schultz, Rush, Beck and all the rest, take a break and learn to speak to the real problems. I believe that no one listens when everyone is screaming, we need to talk to each other and solve our problems as American people not as divided ideological groups who hate each other.

Massachusetts sent a message to Washington yesterday. It was simple, LISTEN, hear our voice, we are tired of the sell-outs, side deals, special interests, gridlock and all the BS.
Obama and his side kicks are still not listening, they promise to continue forward with their agenda. Get ready for more deals and shady tricks as they move forward with a very bad health care bill. I wonder if the Representatives are listening, I wonder if the Senators are listening. If they are not they will be gone.
They liberal media is spinning the Scott Brown victory as white America’s fault, we are “racist,” Olbermann and Schultz are foaming at the mouth at the loss of the super majority. As for me, let me quote James Brown. “I feel good…like I knew I would now”. I hope Cap and Trade, Card Check and the current Health Care Reform bill die!
The Liberals continue to compartmentalize Americans by race, gender, sexual preference and other things. They continue to believe we are ignorant and don’t know what is best for ourselves. They believe we are incapable of fending for ourselves. To those who think this, your are so wrong.
I hope all the politicians in this country were hearing what was spoken in Massachusetts and not the spin they are putting forward. This election was not a mandate to the Republicans nor was it a lucky win over a bad campaign by the Democratic candidate. It is simply America saying enough, listen to us.

After a few weeks at home and some key elections you would think the leadership would begin to see that America is a fiscal conservative, socially moderate country. The liberals are about 20% of the population and control a hundred percent of the House, Senate and the Presidency. The Tea Party groups were dismissed as organized by the Republicans, called names and ignored. Harry Reed continues to push secret deals in back rooms and no one really knows what is in the making to move this bill forward.
Massachusetts is having a special election and if the polls are any indication, a message is being sent by the people of this state that I believe reflects the mood of this country. Stop treating the American people as ignorant and give us a bill that will actually accomplish health care reform. Do under the lights with full participation of both parties.
Republicans need to get off of their butts and contribute to this process and stop blocking everything put forward by the opposition as do the Democrats. We must have a compromise to move almost any bill through the system.
It is my opinion that this bill is very bad for the American people. If the Democratic Senators have to have special deals to vote for their own bill one has to wonder what is wrong with the bill. One also has to wonder if a Senator takes a deal like some have, are they no better than the special interest groups or insurance companies they are vilifying?
If Scott Brown is elected in Massachusetts the Republicans should not see this as their return to power, they should see the mood of the country and begin to see that we want workable health care reform. The Democrats need to see this as a indicator of the peoples mood and not try to hold up his certification and push this bill through.
It is the function of the government of this county to regulate industries in order to protect us from unscrupulous practices, not join in and rip us off in the name of social reform.
