Democrats, realizing the success of the President’s “Cash for Clunkers” rebate program, have revamped a major portion of their National Health Care Plan.

President Obama, Speaker Pelosi, and SenatorReed are expected to make this major announcement at a news conference later this week. I have obtained an advanced copy for the proposal which is named…

“CASH FOR CODGERS” and it works like this… Couples wishing to access health care funds in order to pay for the delivery of a child will be required to turn in 1 old person. The amount the goverment grants them will be fixed according to a sliding scale. Older and more prescription dependent codgers will garner the highest amounts.

Special “Bonuses” will be paid for those submitting codgers in targeted groups, such as smokers, alcohol drinkers, persons 10 pounds over their prescribed weight, and any member of the Republican Party.

Smaller bonuses will be given for codgers who consume beef, soda, fried food, potatoe chips, whole milk, dairy products, bacon, Brussel sprouts, or Girl Scout Cookies.

All codgers will be rendered totally useless via toxic injection. This will insure that they are not secretly resold or their body parts harvested to keep other codgers in repair.

Tax Cuts, Cheaper Health Care: Really?

First a question, hasn’t been nice having Congress on vacation? They haven’t screwed anything up while they have been off celebrating the last big lie. Oh well on with the fuzzy math and spin. For the last year or so we have been hearing how 95% of Americans had their income taxes reduced. My question is that if 48% of americans don’t pay any income tax how can 95% get a tax break? If you do the basic math 100 minus 48 you get 52, not 95. Considering how the current administration keeps saying anyone making over 200k a year as a single person is rich and should pay more in taxes did they get a tax break too? I wonder how they arrived at the 95% number, don’t you?

Lets look at some of the effects of the so-called stimulus. First they still haven’t spent over $500 billion and unemployment is still at almost 10%, the money in the stimulus was not for job stimulus as they told us. If you read this bill you find studies and commissions and green research and on and on. The last big boondoggle I saw was for a wind power plant in Texas. Sounds like that might be money spent on America right? Well, $1.9 billion went to China for component parts. Why did this happen when there was seed money for American companies to start building these items? I guess the Chinese needed jobs too. It seems to me that almost everything we hear from our government is a load of bull anymore.

Aren’t you tired of all the lies and half truths? We are now saddled with a new health care plan that, despite all the sales talk from the government will lead to higher cost and lower coverage. The wonderful representatives who forced this on us don’t even know what is in the bill or the unintended consequences of this piece of legislation.

It is interesting to me how the focus of these people is so geared to growing government and shrinking our freedoms. Just look at all the eminent domain issues occurring throughout the country by all levels of government. They don’t get much news coverage but are on the increase every year. They are done for the public good according to the government but I feel it is an invasion of our rights.

There are just to many things happening lately to write about but I really believe that America is headed to place unlike any in our history. Since when was it evil to make money, grow a company or enjoy the results of your effort and hard work. Since when did we need the government deciding what was best for us as a whole? Let me put it in these terms. Would you really let Obama make your everyday life decisions for you? Tell you how to spend your money, where to live, how to raise your kids? Wake up he and Pelosi and Reid and company are doing just that.

Nice gift this year, a stripped down expensive do nothing health care plan. What’s next? Oh I know an expensive Cap and Trade bill designed to make your friends richer.
This is a short blog today because I am just too frustrated to comment. So let me just say get ready for higher taxes, higher insurance premiums and more unemployment.

What a great way to explain socialism

An economics professor at a local college made a statement that he had never failed a single student before but had once failed an entire class.

That class had insisted that socialism worked and that no one would be poor and no one would be rich, a great equalizer. The professor then said, “OK, we will have an experiment in this class on socialism.

All grades would be averaged and everyone would receive the same grade so no one would fail and no one would receive an A.

The Class agreed! After the first test, the grades were averaged and everyone got a B. The students who studied hard were upset and the students who studied little were happy.

As the second test rolled around, the students who studied little had studied even less and the ones who studied hard decided they wanted a free ride too so they studied little. The second test average was a D! No one was happy.

When the 3rd test rolled around, the average was an F. The scores never increased as bickering, blame and name-calling all resulted in hard feelings and no one would study for the benefit of anyone else.

All failed, to their great surprise, and the professor told them that socialism would also ultimately fail because when the reward is great, the effort to succeed is great, but when government takes all the reward and shares it with those not earning it, no one will try or want to succeed.

Now for my 2 cents!!!

Now is this what you want to see in your world? Think about it! and consider health care!

Now I am one of those people that doesn’t have a health care plan at the moment, because when I got divorced I also lost my insurance. I have been working to afford health care, but at the moment it is still too expensive for me. I own my own business and the last time I looked into getting insurance it cost more than I could afford. OK, I could afford it “if” I decided not to pay for food and utilities and part of my house payment. But not paying those was not an option for me. Health care will just have to wait, and it’s a good thing I am pretty healthy right now. But I have a goal! And I work hard to someday be able to afford it.

Having told you all that, would I want a health care plan just given to me by the government? Most people would think I would jump at the chance, but in fact I would really rather find a way that insurance or health care was just plain more affordable without it being or seeming like a socialized or government run health care. Now I don’t profess to know all about the health care issues that are going on now, but when I listen to the news it sure sounds like socialized health care “everyone getting the same health care”

You know a government run health care system plain scares me more than being uninsured at the moment.

Once health care is made where everyone is covered, whether or not they are paying for it, how long do you think it will take for all the people who pay for health care to start dropping their insurance and opt for the free stuff. Then how long after that will the doctors and hospitals care standards start dropping when the government starts lowering the price they will pay to the doctors and hospitals. How long after that will we just have everyone upset, sick and dying because no one cares anymore. Not to mention how many people will go into some other field in college because there will no longer be the goal or rewards of becoming a doctor.

Many years ago, I worked for a doctor. I don’t know how many times the subject came up about patients on medicare and how the doctors hated treating them because they knew they would get paid little or nothing for their time, effort and years of training.

Do I want to seen by a doctor of this future government run health care?

Now that is what I call SCARY!!!

Wow! I have been watching the house committee debate on the newest health care plan this past week. Again the liberals are bound and determined to have an all or nothing go at health care. The cuts to our seniors under the guise of reform will kill the advantage plan. The current spin is that it cost 20% more and only about 10,000,000 out of 47,000,000 use this plan. The truth is that Medicare is in trouble and needs to have cuts, but it is an entrenched entitlement. In my mind this only reinforces that fact that the Government cannot effectively run a large public program. I also include their failure to responsibly run social security.

How about we fix SS, Medicare and Medicaid before we tackle an entire redesign of the health care system of this country. It always strikes me as misleading when a politician says I am here to make your life better and then doesn’t sign up for the new plan they designed for you. The only folks who will still have Cadillac health care plans are those same politicians. I give you an example of what they did to the federal employees retirement plan of which they shared the same benefits. They gave the Federal employees the new and improved Federal Employees Retirement System (FERS). This system amounts to Social Security, thrift savings account (like a 401K) and a very small government payout. The old Civil Service Reform Act pension based the payout on years worked, high three salary average and your age, much better for the employee. Did they mandate that any new congressman fall under this system? Hell No, they still get 60% of their salary and a happy face. I contend the same thing will occur with a health care change. In short they lie.

Folks I contend that your costs will go up and your taxes will rise. They only people who will not have this happen to them are the folks who pay little or no taxes and currently don’t have healthcare.

Max Baucus has clearly demonstrated his contempt for the people of this country, he and the white house have issued a gag order effectively stopping insurance company’s from informing their customers of the effects of this bill.

I know I am repeating myself when I say that they they are trying to silence any opposition so they can achieve their ends, which is a large government controlled health care system. We are losing our rights an inch at a time, Please raise your voices in opposition of all these large government programs that are heading us to bankruptcy

Obama shuns Fox and runs into Stephanopoulos on ABC. Obama, Seeking media safe havens to promote (sell) his health care plan on sunday, ran into some resistance from George Stephanopoulos on ABC. Well I guess even the liberal news media can provide some surprises! Was that anger, frustration, or just a “parent” scolding a child I saw in Obama’s response?

I just don’t understand the rush to pass a bill that no one understands or can pay for. In the normal process of moving a bill through the legislature there a months of hearings, expert testimony, and legislators gather data, committees review and the bill is debated on the floor. What’s the rush on health care? none of the aforementioned has occurred on HR3200. How can six legislators have enough expertise to generate such a complex bill such as HR3200? Where were the public hearings? Where is the floor debate? Where is the cost analysis? Where is full disclosure to the American people? I spent the weekend reading HR3200, wow! I am not claiming to understand most of what I read, “THAT” is the problem, I don’t think most people can understand something this complex, including President Obama or the authors of the bill, Mr Rangle, Waxman, Miller, Stark, Pallone, and Andrews. This may explain why President Obama could not answer Stephanopoulos’s question about fines vs taxes. I don’t believe the President has read a one thousand page bill.

You also have to ask yourself which proposed health care bill are they referring to at any given point in the debate, there seem to be at least five floating around. These bills are in various stages of completion, but further add to the confusion. Until there is a comprehensive review of “WHY” the cost of health care is so expensive and the cost drivers are identified, no one can fix the problem.

This Administration and a majority of congress are rushing into chaos, trying to legislate a morals issue instead of legislating a true fix for health care.

It seems that the lights are coming on in some offices of the liberal news media and even some of them are beginning to question this administration on some of the details, questions the administration cannot answer.

So far the net result is that any liberal newsperson asking hard questions is branded a “JUDAS”
