In our current economic situation, every little thing we buy or do affects someone else – even their job .  Everyone keeps saying “what can I do to help the economic situation?”  Well make sure your buying American made Products and hiring American based people when for services.  I know that even in my own business, Website Designing, I am competing against work being outsourced overseas.  Don’t wait for the government to bail us out!  Do your part in making America great again!

Have you noticed that Hershey’s candy is now made in Mexico? 

Did you know Colgate is also made in Mexico? 

To know this you would have to read the labels. 

Now Crest is made in the USA if you read the label.

Next time you go to Walmart or the grocery store or even buy products online and check out your name brand stuff. 

Do what this lady did when she went to buy light bulbs and dryer sheets:

This past weekend I was at Kroger. (Can be true for any store.)  I needed 60 W light bulbs and Bounce dryer sheets . I was in the light bulb aisle, and right next to the GE brand I normally buy was an off brand labeled, “Everyday Value . ” I picked up both types of bulbs and compared the stats – they were the same except for the price . The GE bulbs were more money than the Everyday Value brand but the thing that surprised me the most was the fact that GE was made in MEXICO and the Everyday Value brand was made in – get ready for this – the USA in a company in Cleveland , Ohio .

So throw out the myth that you cannot find products you use every day that are made right here .

So on to another aisle – Bounce Dryer Sheets . . . yep, you guessed it, Bounce cost more money and is made in Canada . The Everyday Value brand was less money and MADE IN THE USA! I did laundry yesterday and the dryer sheets performed just like the Bounce Free I have been using for years and at almost half the price!

 I can verify this because I was in Lowe’s the other day for some reason and just for the heck of it I was looking at the hose attachments . They were all made in China . The next day I was in Ace Hardware and just for the heck of it I checked the hose attachments there . They were made in USA . Start looking .

My challenge to you is to start reading the labels when you shop for everyday things and see what you can find that is made in the USA – the job you save may be your own or your neighbors!

Necco Wafers and Conversation Hearts, made for 160 years by the Necco Company.
Peanuts and Cracker Jacks. You’ll still find a prize in a box of Cracker Jacks, introduced in 1896 in Chicago, Illinois.
Blue Bell ice cream, which began in 1907 in Brenham, Texas.
Jack Daniels, introduced in Lynchburg, Tennessee, in 1866.
Support American farmers by trying cheese from Cabot Creamery, a collective of 1,350 farms from the Northeastern states.
Home Products
Woolrich blanket
Benjamin Moore Paints, which began in 1883 in Brooklyn and now produces more than 3,500 colors out of its eight labs in New Jersey.
Crane Stationery, a 200-year old company operating out of Dalton, Mass.
Antique reproduction coverlet from Family Heirloom Weavers, out of Red Lion, Pennsylvania, and you’ll be supporting one of the nation’s few remaining textile mills.
