US Terrorist Trial: Think It Through, How Would We handle Bin Laden?
Senator Graham asked a revealing question today when Eric the US Attorney General testified before the Senate today. If we try these four in US courts what would happen if we captured Bin Laden? The truth is he would be read his rights and no questioning would be allowed without an attorney present. None of the intelligence community would be allowed to interrogate him. He would not have to give up any intelligence information that could possibly save American lives or compromise the Al Qaeda terrorist group. We are setting a dangerous precedent.
Why is this administration selectively trying some in civilian courts and others using a military commission? Eric admits it is a policy decision! He is touting that the American people will finally get justice. I ask who was it that stopped their trials during the last 8 years? Was it the Liberals? Didn’t Eric babies law firm represent several terrorist. Should Eric recuse himself do to that conflict of interest? What is the political agenda here? It certainly isn’t justice for the American people. Come on folks you can’t have it both ways.
What is with the statement “finally going to have justice”? These trials are at least two years away. There will be discovery, there will be motions filed, and finally some of the terrorist will be acting as their own attorneys and will be allowed access to classified information. And finally in my opinion, all you liberals stopped prompt justice for years.
I am just asking a couple of questions here. If the military commissions are good for some, why not for all? What is the motivation to try them in a civilian court when you say no matter what the outcome we won’t release them anyway? Yes, Eric did say that, I was listening to him myself.
This appears to me to be a grandstanding showcase of at least Eric the US Attorney General if not the administration. This appears to be a slap at Bush. This appears to be a back door scheme to put the CIA and the Bush Administration on trial.
‘Yes,’ my liberal friends I know you all hate Bush and would like to see him in jail. To this I say go for it but don’t use these four clowns to do it. This is going to get way to messy and this country is going to be more divided than we are now. Of course that is the Liberal plan anyway, keep em scared and keep em distracted.
The biggest hypocritical thing I see, is that military commissions will be used for most all the other cases at GITMO, but not for these four high profile, publicity driving lunatics.
Eric Holder stated that he is convinced that they will be convicted and receive the death penalty, but the last terrorist missed the death penalty by one vote by one jury member and is now going serve a life sentence. My point is you never know.

Let him go for years, then reject his family a stake in the trans afghan pipeline, then bomb your own country, then blame him, then let him go again.

We can’t. Bin Laden has totally outfoxed efforts by the U.S., and speculation such as that is a pipe dream. If we even managed too get close to Bin Laden, which all evidence clearly shows we won’t. He would not allow himself too be captured alive, thus creating a successful martydom, that would continue haunting us for years too come. He defeated us in life, and he will defeat us in death.

What is it that makes the United States the greatest country on earth? I believe it is an adherence to principles like this:
“An avidity to punish is always dangerous to liberty. It leads men to stretch, to misinterpret, and to misapply even the best of laws. He that would make his own liberty secure must guard even his enemy from oppression; for if he violates this duty he establishes a precedent that will reach to himself.”
Thomas Paine “Dissertations on First Principles of Government” 1795
That’s the problem…the Obama administration DID NOT THINK IT THROUGH and this could well become a catastrophic miscalculation that could endanger the safety of innocent New Yorkers who have already had to endure the horrendous cost of 9/11 itself!! Not only that…it will give KSM and his fellow Islamic cutthroats a HIGH-PROFILE platform to spew their hate, which al-Jazeera TV will naturally turn into a major RECRUITING TOOL for radical Islamic terror groups like al-Qaida!!
