Senate Health Care: REFORM? Or Let’s Make a Deal

dealOk before you all jump on me let me remind you that I am for REFORM! I have been telling you for a while this is not it. More back room deals, less reform, more cost, taxes and price increases for years before the plan even insures one person. WOW! Did you notice the deal with the hold out Senators? One gets millions the rest of the states don’t get, another gets the anti-trust exemptions left in place, god knows what other deals were made. What was it that the big pharmaceuticals got from Obama?

I’m just saying there are too many shifty little side deals to this plan and I don’t think anyone but the special interests are going to benefit. I hate to say it but, I TOLD YOU SO! Many will say now we have a debate, so what? The tricky trio, Pelosi, Reed, Obama, just want to get something, anything in place so they can say we got health care reform. I am sorry but this is not reform, this will not lower cost at all.

You may believe that it will all be fixed in the great debate. It will not! It will get worse and the page count will just grow. Ultimately the entire bill will just collapse and the Democrats will go back to its base and say we tried but the evil Republicans were the party of NO! I can’t imagine what will happen to the dissenting Democrats, what threats and punishments will rain down on them, what threats or bribes will be used to sway them, but you can be sure it will happen.

The entire purpose of becoming a Congressman/women seems to be to achieve power and prestige, or promote an agenda. It doesn’t seem to me they have any purpose other than promoting themselves. We need to get the cost of medical care under control, we need to assure that all our citizens have access to this care. We need to do it in a manner that truly achieves these ends. We need to take the political element out of this process. We need not bankrupt the country in the process and we need to say to hell with the special interests for a change. The American people should be the only special interest of concern to our representative.

Congress should function without influence from anything other than the people of this country. The profitability or solvency of any private organization should not have any influence over our representatives, but it does, it does to the point that it hurts the people of America.
