Pick Your Reason For Why You Vote Democrat
I am not sure who wrote this but it rings true with me.
10. I voted Democrat because I believe oil companies’ profits of 4% on a gallon of gas are obscene but the government taxing the same gallon of gas at 15% isn’t.
9. I voted Democrat because I believe the government will do a better job of spending the money I earn than I would.
8. I voted Democrat because Freedom of speech is fine as long as nobody is offended by it.
7. I voted Democrat because I’m way too irresponsible to own a gun, and I know that my local police are all I need to protect me from murderers and thieves.
6. I voted Democrat because I believe that people who can’t tell us if it will rain on Friday can tell us that the polar ice caps will melt away in ten years if I don’t start driving a Prius.
5. I voted Democrat because I’m not concerned about the slaughter of millions of babies through abortion so long as we keep all death row inmates alive.
4. I voted Democrat because I think illegal aliens have a right to free health care, education, and Social Security benefits.
3. I voted Democrat because I believe that business should not be allowed to make profits for themselves. They need to break even and give the rest away to the government for redistribution as the democrats see fit.
2. I voted Democrat because I believe liberal judges need to rewrite the Constitution every few days to suit some fringe kooks who would never get their agendas past the voters.
1. I voted Democrat because my head is so firmly planted up my a– that it is unlikely that I’ll ever have another point of view.
I’ll keep my Freedom, my God and my Guns… You keep the Change…

Rod–here’s a pretty good reason to have a Democrat in the White House. What do you think about these numbers?

Ok Bridgid, I guess you can always find a set of numbers to use to promote anything. Good job lol
Rod–if I were a filthy rich bugger I would probably love those Republican numbers too!
The Top Ten list is silly. But at least the # 1 reason to vote Democrat can also be applied to Republicans, so in that sense it is a bipartisan list.
I took your poll of the best political word that best describes me. I noticed that there is a high percentage of conservatives that voted. Am I correct in my analysis that I am in the minority as not only a progressive but also a progressive QUEER who has visited your site? That my opinions, if I chose to submit them to this blog, would be vilified? Just wondering? As an aggressive progressive QUEER, I can take the heat but just curious before I put in the time to write something.
I voted democrat in 2008 to keep Hillary Clinton out of the White House, & I now apologize because Obama is much worse than Hillary would have ever been. I felt insulted by the GOP choosing McCain; I felt appauled that he chose Sarah Palin as a running mate just to have a female running mate. Had he chosen more wisely, he’d probably be president right now.
Is this considered an unbiased post? Just curious since the very next post listed on the site “Unbiased News?”, you say, “It is virtually impossible to achieve this goal.” I think you are helping to prove that.
I also try to find sources of unbiased, fact-based information and was hopeful when I arrived at your home page. “Politics and the common man” sounds non-partisan. However a post like this casts doubts that the rest of the content will be devoted to policy debate relying on a broad consensus of facts without a political slant. There’s a reason why most news sources reveal some level of bias. It’s too time consuming to do the research and the journalists have to interpret the info with an open mind. This post isn’t a good representation of your ability to do either.
Tony,
I truly think one one can be Unbiased. We all have options which make us by nature biased. The only thing yes-23 has trued to do is post posts from all sides. We have many guest bloggers and they all have their own options. But what we are saying is we will post all sides from the common man. We never stated we were Unbiased. And I for one am not very political were RodZ would be. I have always said I am opinionated, and will never claim anything more or less.
In fact with you just saying you thought “Politics and the common man” sounds non-partisan therefore you say we should be unbiased is your option of what we should or should not be.
We also are not a news source we are just common people talking about politics. SO I would hope that you can read our blog with that frame of mind and even join in the conversations once in a while.
