Palin Crib Notes vs Obama TelePrompTer

I think the following just about says it all:
Obama Uses Teleprompter to speak to 6th Grade Class

President Barack Obama points to the media, as he enters to speak, after a discussion with 6th grade students at Graham Road Elementary School in Falls Church, Va., Tuesday, Jan. 19, 2010 (AP Photo/Alex Brandon) hat tip Bill

If you had bothered to read the photo caption you would know that Obama wasn’t speaking to a class of sixth graders. He was in a classroom giving a policy speech to the media. So your basic premise is wrong. Also, do a Google Image search for “Reagan teleprompter” or “Bush teleprompter” or “McCain teleprompter” or, if you’re brave enough, “Palin teleprompter” and see what you get. You can do the same Google search for just about any major politician–Democrat or Republican–and the results will be the same. They ALL use teleprompters.

And if you watched President Obama at the Republican conference last week (assuming you weren’t watching it on FOX that is since they chose to cut the live feed pretty quickly) you would have seen him speaking directly to Republican House members, without a teleprompter or notes scribbled in his palm, and you would realize that this whole issue has no substance to it. It serves no purpose except to play the American public for rubes.

Of course he didn’t use it to talk to the sixth grader, but needed it to address the press afterwards.
The use of a teleprompter is not really the issue to me, it is the issue made by Gibbs and the screaming heads on Sarah Palin’s use of her hand for notes. It would have been acceptable to them is she had used index cards or a teleprompter but not her hand. I just think this more intellectual snobbery and childish behavior by the left who are trying to paint her as a country bumpkin because she may run in 2012.
If she is so stupid why are they devoting so much energy to belittling her.
As I said in the post, I would not vote for her because I feel she has too little experience. Think what you may this woman is not stupid

I agree that the media act more like sixth graders themselves when it comes to covering politics. It’s all about who’s popular, who’s cool, who’s got cooties (do sixth graders still say that nowadays?) and who’s the teacher’s pet.

I don’t think Palin is a country bumpkin, or a simple, plain-spoken woman. If she were I would have more respect for her. Speaking plainly is a virtue. Speaking nonsense is not.
