Massachusetts Message: Listen To Us!

Massachusetts sent a message to Washington yesterday. It was simple, LISTEN, hear our voice, we are tired of the sell-outs, side deals, special interests, gridlock and all the BS.
Obama and his side kicks are still not listening, they promise to continue forward with their agenda. Get ready for more deals and shady tricks as they move forward with a very bad health care bill. I wonder if the Representatives are listening, I wonder if the Senators are listening. If they are not they will be gone.
They liberal media is spinning the Scott Brown victory as white America’s fault, we are “racist,” Olbermann and Schultz are foaming at the mouth at the loss of the super majority. As for me, let me quote James Brown. “I feel good…like I knew I would now”. I hope Cap and Trade, Card Check and the current Health Care Reform bill die!
The Liberals continue to compartmentalize Americans by race, gender, sexual preference and other things. They continue to believe we are ignorant and don’t know what is best for ourselves. They believe we are incapable of fending for ourselves. To those who think this, your are so wrong.
I hope all the politicians in this country were hearing what was spoken in Massachusetts and not the spin they are putting forward. This election was not a mandate to the Republicans nor was it a lucky win over a bad campaign by the Democratic candidate. It is simply America saying enough, listen to us.

I agree with you, for the most part. But I do find it odd that the overwhelming electoral victory that Dems won in 2008 did not garner the same calls from Republicans to “listen to the people.” Instead, the Republicans have blocked every attempt by this administration at governing. Was “the people’s voice” in the 2008 national election not authentic? But the voice of those “elitist” New Englanders must be listened to now?

As for the “supermajority” — the Dems never had it in the Senate. It was a mirage, an illusion. Otherwise, why did they spend so much time courting and cajoling Republicans like Olympia Snowe, and making sweetheart deals with conservative Democrats like Mary Landrieu and Ben Nelson?

Consider this quote from Glenn Greenwald: The very idea that an administration run by Barack Obama and Rahm Emanuel and staffed with centrists, Wall Street mavens, and former Bush officials — and a Congress beholden to Blue Dogs and Lieberdems — has been captive to “the Left” is so patently false that everyone should be too embarrassed to utter it.”

Bridgid I believe the Dems missed the true call for change, they took it as “unleash all our social programs” because now the people want it. They were wrong.
There have been many calls for the Repubs to listen and stop trying to be like the Dems. I hope they now understand.
