Did you hear about the Obama Party Crashers?

I was shocked to hear that during a State dinner at the white house that there were party crashers.  It seems that Michaele and Tareq Salahi were able to bypass security at the white house and get right up to the president and shook his hand.

Now that is pretty scary that anyone could get that close to the President of the United States.  I had always thought that the President was a lot more secure than that.  But what really surprised me was that the event was announced all over the world as well. 

The Secret Service said that the Salahis’s were not on the guest list but were allowed to pass anyway and that they may pursue a criminal investigation.  They also say it is unclear what they said to get passed the officers.  Could it also be possible that the officers were just not doing their job like they were supposed to be doing?  Yes we all know that the men and women of the Secret Service put their lives on the line every day, but it is still possible that mistakes happen too.

All I know is no matter what you think of the President of the United States, he is our President and deserves to be protected.  And no matter what the reason, if someone is not on an official list for any Presidential event then they should never have been able to get in.
