You all know about my conservative views. I am not sure that any position on nuclear energy falls to either side. We need various sources of energy in this country, there is no doubt about it, but I believe that nuclear is an uncontrollable beast that we do not know enough about to use. This source of energy can quickly get out of control and cause untold damage for many years.

There is no need to cite statics on historic safety or lack thereof, there is just the common sense approach to this subject, just look at Japan.

What is your opinion? I would like to know.

I’ve been sitting around for a time wondering what I can complain about. I have not listened to the talking heads from any network for several months and only tried to find actual world news presented in an unbiased fashion. It is virtually impossible to achieve this goal.

I do however, watch CNBC in order to track my stocks. This channel actually gives you a feel for how the economy is doing and what is causing it to stall or move forward. They say the market leads the actual economic movement. I don’t know about that, what I do know is that billions of retail buyers have left the market and many are not coming back simply because our government and its policies are so unstable.

It doesn’t seem to matter to this administration that millions of us have our retirement dollars in the market, they continue to claim all businesses are evil and should run as a break even organization and give the profit to the government so it can dole it out as it sees fit.

I guess the point of all my rambling is, the government should not be creating demons and should be working with business by creating regulations and tax laws that make sense and are consistent. Positive statements by the President instead of name calling, blame placing or demonizing would go a long way towards stabilizing the market and the business environment.

10. I voted Democrat because I believe oil companies’ profits of 4% on a gallon of gas are obscene but the government taxing the same gallon of gas at 15% isn’t.

9. I voted Democrat because I believe the government will do a better job of spending the money I earn than I would.

8. I voted Democrat because Freedom of speech is fine as long as nobody is offended by it.

7. I voted Democrat because I’m way too irresponsible to own a gun, and I know that my local police are all I need to protect me from murderers and thieves.

6. I voted Democrat because I believe that people who can’t tell us if it will rain on Friday can tell us that the polar ice caps will melt away in ten years if I don’t start driving a Prius.

5. I voted Democrat because I’m not concerned about the slaughter of millions of babies through abortion so long as we keep all death row inmates alive.

4. I voted Democrat because I think illegal aliens have a right to free health care, education, and Social Security benefits.

3. I voted Democrat because I believe that business should not be allowed to make profits for themselves. They need to break even and give the rest away to the government for redistribution as the democrats see fit.

2. I voted Democrat because I believe liberal judges need to rewrite the Constitution every few days to suit some fringe kooks who would never get their agendas past the voters.

1. I voted Democrat because my head is so firmly planted up my a– that it is unlikely that I’ll ever have another point of view.

I have been watching the events of late and I can say that in my lifetime I have never seen our nation in such a confused state. I was very active during the health care bill process and much to my dismay it passed. We are now finding out what the impact of that bill is going to be. The financial reform act was also passed, so quickly I didn’t really have time to post much on what it was doing, again we are slowly finding out the impact of this bill.

I am watching with great dismay, the racial component that has once again become a mainstay of the political conversation. This is very discouraging to me because I believe it is a distraction, designed to sway public opinion away from the issues facing out nation.

The current administration and democratic controlled Congress are spending money at an alarming rate. This theory is based on something called “Keynesian economics”. I looked at this theory and what really struck me was the fact that it states that you should spend and lower taxes during an economic crises and reduce spending  and raise taxes during good times. What I noticed is that the Progressives want to raise taxes and spend during this crises. Wow! Seems to me they can even get this right.

I am very confused as far as our borders are concerned. What is the problem with stopping the invasion of foreign nationals coming into our country ILLEGALLY? Why is it tied to “comprehensive immigration  reform”? Why are many Hispanics upset with those of us who want to stop this invasion? Our government is one of the largest promoters of racial profiling I have ever seen. Have you ever filled out a government form that did not ask you your race? What is the point of this practice? If you don’t know you really are missing the point. It is all about control and dollars. It is that simple. I believe that until we as a country stop dividing everyone into sub-groups, we will always have a cultural divide. All of this makes me wonder why second or beyond generation Hispanics are so emphatic about allowing this invasion to continue. I really just don’t get it, if you are an american citizen and you have lived here all your life, why aren’t you concerned with what this practice is costing Americans? The political “spin” is that the illegals do jobs Americans won’t do and our economy will be negatively impacted, tell that to the union construction worker who can’t work because he has been undercut by illegals and cheap pay. They other side says it’s a cheap labor thing, hmmm may be a little truth to both sides, but the argument should not even be happing because the illegals should not be here.

Our economy is in shambles and the stimulus did not work, PERIOD. I really don’t believe what this administration is selling. The market is so up and down it is a joke, unemployment is still very high and no new jobs are being created by the private sector. This is because they cannot get a clear picture of the tax increase that are coming or what impact all the new legislation is going to have on them. You can spin the stimulus results anyway you want but the facts are that the money has been spent on worthless BS that produced no new jobs. Don’t give me the political line that many teachers, cops and firemen are still working because of the stimulus money. They could have done that with a specific  bill that spent much less and accomplished the same thing.

I guess in closing I will say that I am very confused. The President is saying we cannot return to the failed policies of the Bush administration. I contend we cannot move forward with the failed policies of the the Obama administration.

WOW! Could it be the principal used common sense to avoid a major problem, like a big fight or worse? These are teenagers, they sometimes don’t think about the consequences of their actions. If I were the principal I would have made the same decision. In todays environment situations like this are extremely volatile. If a school is 40% minority and a few of the majority do something perceived as an affront there will surly be a problem, usually violence. I would not want to be the principle who ignored this situation, would you?

We all should be allowed to celebrate our heritage as part of our rights as Americans, but if a few decide to make a statement in opposition to this celebration they should not be surprised when the inevitable happens and there are consequences to there actions. I think the talking heads and the news media and all others should look at this an intelligent decision on the principals part and not make this a political or racists issue.

Whether or not the American flag wearing students had the right to wear these shirts is not the real issue for the school, Providing a safe place for our kids to learn is. What is really problem is that our country has come to a place where we are categorized by our ethnicity and given titles such as XXXX Americans and not just Americans.

I think celebrating ones heritage is a positive thing but I also believe we should celebrate our common bond as Americans.

Mr. President, you were amused and said we should be thanking you for cutting our taxes. Let me be amongst the first to thank you for allowing me to keep $13 dollars a month of my own money. It is going a long ways to making my life a lot easier. It has allowed me to purchase many of the things I have always wanted but could never afford. Why I can even purchase an extra 4.9 gallons of gas each and every month if the price doesn’t surpass $2.65 a gallon.
I am glad you are amused by the fact that you think we common people  don’t realize what a monetary boon this was for us. I know that when you make upwards of $5 million dollars a year you can appreciate how much a $13 dollars month means to most of us. You certainly relate well to how hard it is to get from month to month on such a small amount of income.

Actually I would also like to thank you and the Congressional leadership for quadrupling the national debt and increasing our deficit with all the helpful programs you are implementing to guide us through our lives. I don’t know how I got to be this old without all the guidance from my government. I am so glad that you and Congress passed the stimulus bill and have spent the money in such productive ways, it thrills me to see the weekly unemployment number at over 450k each and every week. That 10% unemployment number is just a testament to how well that program worked.

The size of our government and the control it exercises  just sends chills down my spine as I envision all the problems it is going to solve in the future. I admire all the forward thinking you and our leaders have put into taking control of our nations businesses and how well you are doing controlling the unions. Thank you for all of that. I cannot wait for the Cap and Trade, Finance Reform and all the other bills in the house to make it into law. This is going to increase our debt to levels that insure the success of our country,

I’ve been sitting back watching the debacle of this so called reform bill and have been wondering what the consequences will be. I think we are starting to see the big sales job and a lot of intimidation from our government. I would like to think that Henry Waxman is calling the CEO’s in to see where the Congress went wrong with their numbers, but I am more suspicious of him than that. I really think he is going to challenge them. The Administration is already saying that it is just a bunch of Republican CEO’s trying to scare the American people. While it seems that all but one of the CEO’s is a Republican it is also true, that by law they must report the financial impact of any legislation to their bottom line. If they don’t then the FTC is all over them and they risk a legal situation and fines. I think the effects of this bill are going to be far reaching and will impact American business and the average person in extremely negative way.

This Administration and the leadership in Congress have put into effect a law that by all accounts is going to be very costly. I’ve been against this bill from the beginning simply because I believe the cost of entitlements are way to high, have a tendency to grow exponentially over time and once in place are almost never repealed or replace. When the full effect of this bill is felt several years from now people will be surprised at how it will affect the bottom line of their own budgets.

I don’t believe for one minute this bill will be repealed, we are going to have health care reform and will see the consequences of rushing a bad bill through the legislative process on a straight party line vote. I also believe their success will cause them to push several other big ticket bills through in the same manner further increasing the deficit and the debt. Representative Charles Gonzales of the 20th district in San Antonio TX. tells me this is a mortgage he is willing to live with, well it’s easy to incur debt with other peoples money.

I guess we will just have to wait and see who is right about the effects and benefits of this bill. I suspect it will not improve the health care delivery system nor lower costs for the average American.
